Description: Non-profit organization job training and placement agency helping homeless and low income people. Maintain a caseload of students and graduates:
Develop and place students in internships appropriate to their career and employment interests and provide vocational counseling to them as they participate in internships. Conduct site visits to internship sites to solidify relationships.
Develop new job leads and assist students and graduates with job search activities such as updating resumes, writing letters, contacting employers, searching Internet, completing job applications, interviewing, and making follow-up calls. Maintain or exceed current employment rate of 85%.
Outreach to provide support and services to graduates, maintaining or exceeding 90 day job retention rate of 80% and one year rate of 70%. Work with them so they can receive increases in wages, benefits and promotions.
Work with students and graduates on furthering their education and skills by investigating and placing them in appropriate GED, college, or training programs.
Network with employers and other job development agencies to identify job openings and establish long-term relationships towards goal of 35 new employers per year.
Run evening programs on monthly basis and assist at other special events.
Maintain accurate and timely case notes and other records and participate in weekly Client and Staff meetings.
Collect follow-up data for Research Project.
Liaise with education staff to assure coordinated services.
Other duties as assigned. Hours are Mon-Thursday 12 Noon-8 PM, Friday 9 AM-5 PM.
Requirements: Experience with job development and low-income, homeless or welfare dependent population.
Outgoing personality and solid networking skills.
Master’s degree preferred.
