Description: Non-profit provider of innovative education, job training, and employment programs for disconnected youth and disadvantaged adult populations.
Responsible for state and city contract management including direct communication with funding sources.
Preparation of program budgets and proposal budgets and annual agency-wide budget. Timely preparation and submission of budget modifications.
Maintain agency/program cost allocations as required by the funding source or agency policies.
Ongoing analysis and updating of cost allocations to maximize funds received.
Ensure that accounting and financial policies & procedures are being followed at all times.
Coordinate preparation for the annual agency year-end audit.
Prepare Monthly Financial Reports (MFRs) for designated contracts.
Prepare program close outs as required by funding sources.
Supervision of Accounts Payable Associate and (P/T) Payroll Clerk.
Perform additional duties as requested by the Executive Director.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred; Must have 6 years of hands-on nonprofit accounting experience; Expertise in budgeting and reporting requirements including GAAP; Strong knowledge of accounting software programs required; Fund EZ knowledge preferred.
